Delivering positive Social & Environmental Impact
Saving the world’s fish stocks
26% of fish caught in the world, or over 20 million tons a year, are used for the feed industry. Feeding fish with insects could potentially save 20 million tons of fish a year and much more in the years ahead
Cleaning a dirty industry
Palm oil production creates millions of tons of bio waste a year, most of which is discarded or burned, emitting massive amounts of CO2. This bio waste can now be recycled in our fish feed production process
Reducing dependence on soy
2.2B people can get food security if land for soybean meal can be diverted for cereal production. Soy production is the number one cause of deforestation in South America. 98% of all soy is used for animal feed. INSEACT can decrease the world’s dependency on soy.
Making Fish cheaper & more accessible
Eating fish has many health benefits. Decreasing fish food cost, the largest cost for fish farmers, will make fish cheaper and more accessible to lower income families, helping alleviate obesity and other health risks.
We support five of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals
End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture
Good health and well-being for people
Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
Responsible consumption and production
Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts by regulating emissions and promoting developments in renewable energy.
Life below water
Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
